designing with vintage imagesI was experimenting with using vintage images for a cover design and got off on a few design tangents (I’m sure that’s never happened to you, right). Hours later I had some interesting looking pieces that never ended up in a design – but they were fun to put together. May as well share! Any and all parts of these files can be used in personal or commercial works.

Convert Photos into Stone- Photoshop Tutorial

Photoshop special effects are amongst my favorite things to do with photographs.� I recently found a tutorial over at that shows you how to convert a regular portrait photo into a Michelangelo-esque statue using a few photoshop tricks.� You can see my two attempts at following this tutorial below. One statue looks more like stone, I then added a column and some lighting.� I made the other statue look more like marble for a sleeker surface texture, I then added some angel wings.

The name of this album is “View from Hear”, there’s a play on words so I tried to do the same visually- the client and I went through various drafts before deciding on this design. The genre of music is Christian Rock, the goal was to not hit people over the head with Christian symbolism so I approached it with a neutral design first and then sprinkled subtle spirituality through out- Vuala.
