The name of this album is “View from Hear”, there’s a play on words so I tried to do the same visually- the client and I went through various drafts before deciding on this design. The genre of music is Christian Rock, the goal was to not hit people over the head with Christian symbolism so I approached it with a neutral design first and then sprinkled subtle spirituality through out- Vuala. Below are a collection of stock photo’s I used to create this piece.
Also below are other cover designs created for this project that didn’t make the cut. They were all created using photoshop. As you can see they all use a similar color palette which was specified by the client- I think that they’re all very nice but of course I have a bias. Greatness!

A lot of times I do not like Photoshop designs, they tend to be cheesy depending on how well the layers are blended, but these designs are very impressive! Great job 😀

Great design, I like the winner best too. It reminds me of some of the great sleeve designs of the sixties and seventies. I have an album by Strawbs for example which I cherish for the design alone.
I once even contemplated, quite seriously, to construct plexiglass cases for my album sleeves and mount them on the wall as decoration.
Joolz Denby still does some nice work for New Model Army albums, but it’s just not the same at CD size.

PS: Curious how you did the edge effect, the paint strokes border, I mean.

Thanks for the kudos David, I achieved the painted border effect using photoshop. layer upon layer, I used a canvas texture for the base and layered the painted border on top and set it to screen, and then a few more layers on top of that. Glad you liked it.
